You can receive funding for tuition fees for academic studies or vocational training, in order to help you acquiring a profession and integrating into the labor market.
To receive funding for tuition fees, you must, before registering for studies, formulate a study plan that suits your needs and aspirations together with your assigned rehabilitation worker.
Tuition and vocation training funding
If you have not previously received tuition funding, you may receive it under the following conditions:
- Disability percentage – you were determined to have a disability degree of 20% or more (or 10% or more if the injury was recognized by 31/12/1995)
- You are not paid any compensation for loss of working capacity (needy) or special benefit
- You are able to complete your studies up to two years before retirement age (60 for women, 65 for men)
- The funding is paid according to your tuition fees, with the maximum amount being up to 3 times the university tuition fee of the Council for Higher Education.
- The amount of funding for the current academic year (2024-2025) is NIS 34,959.
- The duration of funding is for the standard study period of the program being studied. However, in the case of studies at the Open University or another institution that does not have an accepted period of studies, the funding will last for a maximum of four years.
Study allowance (living allowance)
- Study allowance is paid monthly and covers living expenses, to allow you to concentrate on your studies and personal development.
- The amount of the allowance varies depending on the percentage of your disability and the composition of your family.
- Study allowance (living allowance) is paid to you provided that studies time include 15 or more weekly study hours.
- The allowance will be paid to you for the duration of the accepted study period for the subject studied.
Remedial courses funding
- Funding for remedial classes during your studies is provided if you have received approval for tuition funding for a study rehabilitation program.
- The assistance can only be received during the approved study period.
- You can use the funding amount throughout the entire study period according to your needs.
- The amount of funding varies depending on the duration of the study program:
Up to 3 years - the amount of funding for the entire study period is NIS 15,000
4 years and above - the amount of funding for the entire study period is NIS 20,000
Assistance in purchasing study equipment
- You are eligible to receive assistance in purchasing study equipment, including: an annual grant for purchasing equipment, participation in purchasing a computer, and funding for assistive equipment tailored to your situation.
- Each academic year, you will be paid a grant of NIS 500 for purchasing study equipment.
- You can purchase a computer for study purposes and receive a maximum refund of NIS 3,000.
- The refund for purchasing a computer is a one-time payment for the entire study period, for a computer purchased during the study period.
